To discuss the future development plan, cooperation plan, and to further strengthen the cooperation and communication between aluminium enterprises in Binzhou and Shanghai as well as to enhance the level of development of aluminum enterprises in the two places, Yangtze River Delta docking Bohai Aluminum Industry Chain Development Summit is convened on 6th, Jul 2017 in Binzhou City. Du Ping, Vice president of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and Vice Mayor of Binzhou City, Xu Guotao, vice president of China Nonferrous Metals Processing Industry Association and Shanghai Aluminum Industry Association, Zhang Jilin, China Nonferrous Metals Processing Industry Vice Chairman of the Association and Secretary General attended the forum and delivered a speech.

Cui Lixin, Vice Chairman of China Nonferrous Metals Processing Industry Association and Executive Vice President of Binzhou City Aluminum Industry Association, attended the forum and delivered a welcome speech. He said that the Yangtze River Delta and the Bohai Sea region elite gathered together to discuss the development of cooperation, which was the national aluminum industry event and joyous occasion. Binzhou Aluminum Association and Shanghai Aluminum Association is a strategic partnership, has a broad space for cooperation. Entrepreneurs of Binzhou City have repeatedly wen to Shanghai Aluminium Association for negotiation and cooperation. Last year in April, led by President Xu Guotao and Secretary General Yuan Yongda, more than fifty entrepreneurs from Shanghai Aluminium Institute arrived in Binzhou City and had a three day fellowship. This is the second time that both parties joint together holding such large-scale national exchange activities. Enterprises member in shanghai Association has occupied the high-end industry chain and intensive technologies, whereas rich natural resources and great potential is the feature of that in Binzhou Association. The local and national aluminium industries are expected to have meaningful progress by strengthen the cooperation between both parties and utilizing the complementary advantages.

The Vice Mayor of Binzhou City Du Ping pointed out in his speech, started in 2001, aluminium industry in Binzhou grew quickly from the "spark of the stars" into "a prairie fire" in 10-year time. Led by Weiqiao Group, supported by innovation group, Mengwei Group, Bohai Pistons, Huajian Aluminum and other key enterprises, Binzhou has thus become the country and the world's major aluminum production base. She said Binzhou aluminum industry has formed the following characteristics during the development process: Firstly, adhere to both quality and quantity. At present, the city's aluminum processing capacity is more than 8 million tons and the main business revenue have reached 2700 billion in the year 2016; the year-on-year growth is 25% that accounted for 32.2% of the scaled industry. Moreover, a quarter of the City’s tax revenue is generated from aluminium industry and more than 100,000 employments are attracted. The aluminium industry is absolutely the primary industry in Binzhou City. While expansion, the main focus is on transforming and updating, quality enhancing and efficiency. Formal planning is always highlighted, therefore an industry medium and long-term development plan is commissioned and compiled by China Nonferrous Metals Processing Institute. By importing downstream and upstream related projects and driven by industry chain, transformation from growth in quantity to quality is realized. The second feature is insists of cluster development. Three production bases including Zouping, Economic Development Zone of Binzhou and Beihai as the target center, channeled to the development pattern of the whole city. They highly correlates to each other and formed an intensive and complete economic industrial clusters in domestic, which has quickened the industry upgrading. Lastly, technology leads to innovation; the city possesses one national technology center, six provincial centers and six municipal centers.

According to the domestic and overseas’ development trend, a strategic objective is pointed out by the municipal government name as create "500 billion high-end aluminum industry cluster" in 13th Five-Year period. Duping said that they were confident about this objective and they’ll push forward the industry development in a standard and healthy direction when transformation and upgrading during scale enlargement. China Nonferrous Metals Processing Industry Association, vice chairman of the Secretary-General Zhang Jilin said in his speech, the Yangtze River Delta was not only one of the core areas of China's aluminium consumption but also a place with high technology, quality and new applications of aluminium materials. Binzhou City is now the largest aluminium industry cluster both in domestic and international, and the most extrude advantage is the abundant electrolytic aluminum and aluminum processing resources. Only by increase the communication and cooperation between two places, innovation from upstream and downstream, cluster development and industrial transformation can be facilitated. Based on his opinion, the aluminium material production is 5.796 million tons, the year-on-year growth figure is 9.72%. Moreover, the sales revenue in 2016 was 11,298 billion and the profit was 596 billion, accounted for 20% and 30% of the Non-ferrous industry respectively. Based on last year production data, the national capacity is 2.434 million tons which has increased 8.27% from January to May this year.  In brief, aluminium processing industry in China is quite healthy and promising, hence the aluminium consumption would keep its upward trend along with the ongoing exploitation in future application.

In recent years, the aluminium industry cluster in Binzhou City has clear advantages in regards to its industry status and impacts as well as its solid industrial foundation. Zhang Jilin indicated that the aluminium industry development in Binzhou is confronted with the transformation of both quality and quantity. To this end, the preparation of "Binzhou high-end aluminum long-term development plan" is preceded and compiled by the Binzhou municipal government and association.
